Author: K. Roland Williams

Synopsis:

Quincy Underwood is a well known local celebrity in his hood. He?s street smart, handsome, and the talented lead vocalist for Taboo, the hottest Neo Soul R&B band on the East Coast. Quincy?s deepest desire is to live the lifestyle that he knows he deserves: a life of luxury far removed from the concrete jungle and poverty he was raised in. However, Raymond James, drug lord and owner of the Melody Room, the largest night club in the city, has other plans for Q. There?s no way he is going to allow his number one legal money maker to slip out of his grasp. Antoinette Sweet, wife of the owner of the notorious Cut Throat Records, is sexy, beautiful, extremely rich and has the ability to make all of Quincy?s dreams a reality. All he has to do is sign a contract with Cut Throat. But what price will he have to pay for his dream to become a reality? Quincy is caught in the middle of a life and death struggle between two drug dealers, a passionate love affair and an FBI investigation that could land him in federal prison for the rest of his life, or worse, in a body bag. Ride with Quincy through the gritty streets of N.E. Washington D.C. as he fights to regain control of his life, and sing in his own key.

Reviews:

K. Roland paints a picture so vivid, that I realized early on that I wasn't reading his novel, I was within the scenes of it. I was taken back by the powerful plot, twists and his brilliant use of words. Cut Throat is a masterpiece and I enjoyed the journey of Q, the battle between Victor and Raymond and the desire to suceed, despite all!

K. Roland, take a bow, your debut novel is PARAMOUNT!

I just got through reading this Book by K. Roland Williams and i couldn't put it down. Now it may be cliché about Books regarding a aspiring Musician and there life at trying to get to the top and there surroundings, but it never gets old. the main character in this Book Quincy(Q) is a Singer who is torn between the Stage and the Streets. winning at all costs and also the possibilities of losing everything all at once. this story is a roll of the dice which could mean having it all and also losing it all. no middle ground and that is what makes this book so compelling and just keeps you reading page after page. so many twists and turns which will leave you wanting more. i dig Q's ode to Stevie Wonder with Q's Songs in the Key of Life" it is very fitting in the end. a must read.
